Lesson 1: (Hours 1-2)
Introduce pre-trip vehicle inspection procedures with demo driving by instructor.
Demonstrate pre-driving habits, including adjusting mirrors and seat, and safety checks.
Begin hands-on sessions with starting, stopping, steering, and simple lane discipline.
Practice left and right turns, lane change and blind spot check.
Cover basic forward driving at varying speeds, addressing low-volume intersections.
Complete feedback and DRIVER evaluation at lesson’s end.
Lesson 2: (Hours 3-4)
Review and reinforce visual habits and steering from Lesson 1.
Introduce controlled intersections and safe negotiation of multi-lane roadways with low to medium traffic.
Practice proper following distances and maintenance of a space cushion around the vehicle.
Practice Parallel parking, Perpendicular/Angle parkings, Up/Down hill Parking.
Emphasize avoiding blind spots and safe lane changes.
Introduce turning at control/Uncontrolled Multi-Lane intersections.
Provide feedback and update D.R.I.V.E.R. report.
Lesson 3: (Hours 5-6)
Review and reinforce previous lessons.
Introduce advanced driving techniques and hazard management.
Key concepts: visual habits, decision-making, and execution.
Driving around downtown area and major highways.
Master two- and three-point turns.
Practice passing and being passed where legal.
Simulate one-way streets and traffic circles if not available locally.
Conduct basic commentary driving and hazard detection exercises.
Complete session feedback and D.R.I.V.E.R report.
Lesson 4: (Hours 7-8)
Focus on refining skills for passing and lane management.
Practice: parallel, angle, and up hill/down hill parkings.
Practice freeway/highway merging, entering, and exiting.
Train for highway curves, dusk/night driving.
Emphasize 360-degree hazard awareness and techniques for hazard reduction/elimination.
End lessons with feedback and D.R.I.V.E.R report.
Lesson 5: (Hours 9-10)
Consolidated all previous lessons with an emphasis on independent driving preparation.
Further practice merging, cornering, and advanced hazard detection.
Develop defensive driving skills for anticipation and avoidance.
Focus on planned, independent driving decisions and actions for real-world readiness.
Getting ready for the road tests by going over all the essential components of the lesson.
Provide final feedback and complete the D.R.I.V.E.R report.
